Outdoor Education Camping Program

Alphington Primary School provides students from Foundation to Year 6 with the opportunity to participate in a safe, structured outdoor education program. The program encourages social interaction and interdependence, promotes independence and self-sufficiency in environments different to the regular classroom. At APS we have developed a program that begins in Foundation, with a two hour twilight evening at school, and culminates in a week long residential camp in Year 6. We believe that by providing opportunities at every year level we have created a camping program that allows our students to make the most of the opportunities provided.
Program Overview
Foundation Twilight Evening at APS - students return to school for a pyjama party!

Lord Somers Camp provides the opportunity for APS students to meet up with students from other primary schools and as such provides a unique opportunity to develop leadership and interpersonal skills. This is offered to students in Years 5 and 6 every second year.
Inspiring learning, creativity and excellence for our future.
Kindness, resilience, integrity, curiosity and respect are embedded in all aspects of life at Alphington Primary School and truly support our endeavour to assist students to be outstanding in all that they do. Students develop social skills such as understanding what it means to be a good friend and how to care for and work with others.
