In December 2007, we were accredited with our 5 star sustainable status.

AuSSi (The Australian Sustainable Schools Initiative) Victoria is comprised of five modules: the Coremodule (Schools Becoming Sustainable) and four modules:

    Energy- energy conservation, renewable energy, air quality and reduction in greenhouse gas emissions;
    Water- water conservation and storm water management;
    Waste Wise- waste/litter minimisation and recycling;
    Biodiversity & School Grounds developing indigenous gardens that attract native fauna.

The journey to 5 star sustainable status was long one and hard work. We needed to undertake audits, prepare and teach curriculum programs, organise incursions and excursions. There were thousands of hours of volunteered times at working bees, tree plantings, grant submissions and breakfasts for environment days and much more!.
